Personality:  Articulate, well mannered, and intelligent, Makaze usually comes across as a civilized and classy guy.  However his courteous and genteel act only serves to conceal a more ruthless and Machiavellian persona that lacks true empathy (but he hides it WELL). He’s fastidious and methodical, a scientific mind that is highly curious, arrogant, and at times detached from the world.

History:  Hekireki was the middle child with no exceptional talents and no redeeming qualities.  Weak and sickly, he alone could not take to the vigorous martial arts training that were drilled into all Zekrom clans from an early age.  He turned to books and scholarly learning instead but found that he was limited in that regard as well.  Hekireki’s older brother tried to train him in archery, but he had no interest, certain that his family simply wanted opportunities to make fun of him

    As the black sheep of his clan he hid away, sequestering himself in the small library.  He would reread the histories of Zekrom Guardians and Leaders past, pretending to vicariously live through their tales of glory and power. He was content to let his older brother and younger sister represent the Jinkourai clan and spent his days alone.

    Then came the news of the Genesect attack and Kami Trio Wars.  There was a great upheaval in his clan---the villages were looking for a new Zekrom Guardian and they were going to determine whom in way of ancient tradition.  An all out battle royale!  Last Zekrom standing would receive the honor!

    He desperately wanted to join, the chance to live the epic sagas he absorbed was all he could think about, but he was laughed at by the rest of the Zekrom clans and in the end he couldn’t bear their words and thought to spare himself the humiliation.  However the Battle Royale took a turn for the worst.  Hekireki’s brother received a fatal wound, and his sister an injury to the head that would leave her brain damaged.

    In the end, the Wakamura family won the title and they chose Ryuunosuke as their Champion even though he had not taken part in the competition.  This outraged the other clans, but they adhered to the laws of tradition and plotted to place one of their own into power one day in the future. That day came sooner than any one of them realized as suddenly Ryuunosuke disappeared.  They immediately decided to throw another event together right away, everyone scrambling to get whichever Zekrom was still in shape to do battle.

    The Jinkourai clan was at a heavy disadvantage however as the only candidate they could send was Hekireki.  Hekireki’s parents were disgusted with his cowardice from before, and still in mourning over his brother and sister.  Scared that he would be killed like his brother, and frustrated by the lack of faith from his own clan, Hekireki sought refuge in the one place that had comforted him all these years.  Books.

    He recalled that there was a story of one Zekrom, mightier than ANY other Zekrom in history, who had learned the most powerful moves that not even the renowned Ryuunosuke could master.  That Zekrom had become so strong that he had to be sealed away from time and space and in that scroll there was a forbidden spell to reach the same level of power that the ancient Zekrom had.  It was dark magic---but Hekireki was in a dark place.

    The spell called for a sacrifice so he brought his sister’s vegetable body to the secret underground temple beneath his clan’s home and speaking archaic words of black magic he sought to gain power for himself.

    When the time for the tournament came, no one from the Jinkourai came forward to participate.  The other clans mocked Hekireki’s parents for his second show of ‘cold feet’ and promptly started the battle royale.  Suddenly out of the blue a hail of meteors rained down from the sky, obliterating all of the Zekrom contestants. To everyone’s horror there was only one left standing at the edge of the battlefield once the dust cleared.  And he was nothing as they had remembered of him.

    Gone was the timid slow-witted weakling they all knew before.  In his place stood a young man confident, proud, and strong, bow in hand with another arrow notched and ready to fire.

    “I do not suppose there is any one else who wishes to continue?”

    No one else could or did and so to his parent’s amazement, Hekireki was crowned the new Champion and due to be sent off to Scorched Mountain village.  They were so pleased with their newfound rise in status that his clan didn’t bother to question where Hekireki’s sister was, his drastic change in personality and temperament, or why he now insisted that they call him---

    “Makaze.”

Misc:

Jinkourai = Artificial Lightning

Hekireki = Thunderclap

Makaze = Eerie Wind/Devil Storm

- Makaze is still physically weak hence why he relies on archery instead of the more physically demanding combat weapon katana.  He is 6’0” the shortest in his family.

- He absolutely cannot stand being underground.  It’s a specific sort of claustrophobia.  Even man made tunnels/mines/caves, he cannot tolerate. He will openly panic if found there.

- The two moves that he learned were Draco Meteor and Bolt Strike. Because he is not a very physically muscular or strong person he avoids using Bolt Strike if possible.

- Though his bow has the shape of wings, he has his own real pair that allows him to fly.  They can be hidden however and are not always present.

- His lightning and electric attack color is blue. When activating his stronger powers, his blue tattoo lines will glow. Like Fenris *slapped* He also has black gems embedded on each shoulder and knee as well as the one on his chest.
