:bulletred:  Skills/Powers:

    -               (Innate) Flight.

    -               [Healing Blood Sweat.] He sweats blood as all the famous Ferghana horses do, however upon fully coming into his Tianma powers the blood he sweats is now a powerful cure all elixir.  There are even rumors that it could grant immortality to one who drinks it everyday for a hundred years.  However it is not something he can call out on command.  He has to really push himself to the brink to sweat because of his body’s stamina.

    -               [Phenomenally heightened durability, endurance, and stamina.]  He can withstand extreme temperatures and low oxygen environments while maintaining the same amount of speed and effort in his actions for extended periods of time. When pushed he can even travel to the limits of the outer atmosphere of the earth and survive. Even foreign substances/chemicals and poisons take longer to affect him and are usually less effective/potent.  This is believed to be because of the regenerative and healing properties of his blood/sweat.  A.K.A. the guy is a tank and a bit of a bruiser. Don't expect delicacy in his fighting style.

    -               [Extensive Martial Arts prowess and training.Coming from a military family he picked up all the necessary skills in weapons of the time and hand to hand combat, especially favoring the bow.  Throughout the years he picked up knowledge of different martial art schools and weapons from around the globe, but his constant lack of discipline hinders his latent potential as a capable martial arts expert. A lot of knowledge but little application.  The only weapons that he lacks real familiarity with are firearms though he is aware of gunpowder and the idea of ‘tiny hand held cannons’.

:bulletred:  Personal Information
:bulletred:  Personality:  Perceptive and quick-witted, he is an easygoing slacker that prefers to settle matters with as little trouble as possible, but when his patience runs out (which is quite fast) he doesn’t care if it is settled peacefully or violently. Despite being over two thousand years old, he’s still considered fairly young by Tianma spirit standards and it can show. Quiming is instinctively independent and carefree, often leading to unintended distance or selfishness, as he tends to lose interest in things rather easily.  However he is warm hearted and loyal to those that prove themselves to him, and he likes to actively pursue matters that raise his curiosity.

Depending on whom he’s talking to, his sense of humor tends to be a mixed bag of lighthearted ribbing and wry sarcasm that veils a subtle darkness.  Even though he employs an adaptive method and flexible attitude when dealing with people, Qiuming is never two-faced, and dislikes false speech and flattery.  He is more tactful when speaking, but usually will be fairly straightforward with his thoughts if he decides to voice them out loud.

:bulletred:  Likes:

    -         ‘Crunchy Fruit/Veggies’ (i.e. apples, asian pears, carrots etc.) and Oat bars.

    -         Racing or most games that involve any kind of chasing/flying.

    -         Talking with people, whether it is shallow idle chit chat or deep personal conversations.

    -         Having his ‘mane’ and tail combed by pretty women and girls.

    -         Giving advice.

:bulletred:  Dislikes:

    -         Despotism (especially False Charges/Organized Corruption)

    -       Men on his back and/or shoulders (being ‘ridden’ on) but Women and young children are okay

    -       Ultimatums and other threats that are an attempt to constrain or guilt trip him.

    -       Being pushed to his utmost limits (physically, mentally, emotionally…)

    -       Saddles, Bits, Tacks. Reins etc. If anyone is to ride him, they’ll have to do so bareback. (And no pulling on his mane! He’ll toss you the moment it’s safe to do so!)

    -       Traveling by water.

    -       Getting advice.

:bulletred:  History:

At the end of the War of the Heavenly Horses, Emperor Wudi demanded 3,000 of the infamous blood sweating Ferghana horses as tribute, with ten of them being select thoroughbreds as special breeding stock.  Unbeknownst to the horse traders, Qiuming’s dam had mated with a Tianma stallion from the mountains and became pregnant before she was chosen as one of the ten purebreds.  Qiuming was born en route to the Jade Gate in the early winter of the year 102 BC.  His birth was surprising in that he not only came out with a rare brindle colored coat, but there were tiny little nubs on his back that seemed to be made of soft down.

The horse breeders were frightened by such an omen and considered his back protrusions to be some kind of deformity brought about by a curse.  The general Li Guangli, who was escorting them at the time, however was an educated man and the brother in law of the Emperor.  Suspecting the true nature of the foal he separated the colt from the rest of the herd and fed him a special diet of immortality peaches and honeyed human milk.  The colt flourished under such supervision and on the night of his very first full moon, he transformed into a human boy that looked about 5 years old.

Li Guangli started to teach the colt how to read and write, and more importantly the cruel militaristic tactics of the Han Dynasty.  The colt was a fast learner, but already at a young age his free spirited nature chafed against the rigid discipline of the army, and often he would transform back into his horse form to run free at night.  By the time the herd had arrived at the Jade Gate, the colt had turned one year old and Li Guangli presented the colt to Emperor Wudi as a personal gift.  The Emperor was pleased and kept the colt on palace grounds as a trophy, but again the colt disliked being contained and often snuck around the palace in human form.

This was how he stumbled across the Crown Prince, Liu Ju.  At first he found the well-mannered and benevolent gentleman to be a softhearted fool because of his influence from the harsh violent general, but over time he came to understand and respect Liu Ju’s policies of wisdom and fairness.  They became good friends, and it was Liu Ju who upon realizing the colt was only called “Biao” after his brindle pattern gave the fledgling Tianma a proper name after the philosopher he was reading about when they first met, “Qiuming”. It was because of his interactions with Liu Ju that Qiuming adopted a more relaxed attitude and good heart with a moral compass.

Tragedy struck however when the Emperor slowly went mad with desires for immortality and paranoia of witchcraft.  Palace intrigue framed Liu Ju for conspiracy of rebellion and by 91 BC, Qiuming’s best friend had been killed.  Out of respect for his friend, Qiuming stayed his hand for vengeance and instead intervened to spare Liu Ji’s only surviving progeny, a grandson by the name of Liu Bingyi, who had been only a few months old at the time of the witch-hunt.  When Liu Bingyi was banished he helped the warden raise the baby among peasants and war prisoners, teaching Liu Bingyi the ways and philosophy of merciful Liu Ju.

Through Qiuming’s care and guidance, he watched over Liu Bingyi as he grew up and successfully took back the throne that rightfully belonged to him.  At this time however Qiuming struggled against his inherent nature to avoid being bound to one place.  He had only stayed out of obligation to his best friend to see that his bloodline succeeded but he could not resist the call to explore, especially after discovering the idea of reincarnation.  Because of his carelessness, Liu Bingyi’s wife, Empress Xu, was assassinated while pregnant.  Liu Bingyi was angry and blamed Qiuming for not protecting her or at least saving her with the Tianma’s magical blood sweat. The Emperor would go on to wipe out the whole family clan of the ones who killed his wife, and Qiuming was disappointed by Liu Bingyi’s path of vengeance.  This started the rift between Qiuming and the Liu family.

Still out of respect for Liu Ju, Qiuming hung around Liu Bingyi’s son, Liu Shi.  He saved Liu Shi from multiple assassination attempts to atone for his failing the late Empress Xu, Liu Shi’s mother.  By the time Liu Shi was made Emperor, Qiuming had become increasingly distant, losing interest in the affairs of court intrigue and rationalizing that Liu Ju’s bloodline would be fine without need for his intercession.  More and more he came to realize how different Liu Ju’s descendants were from his good friend.

When Liu Shi’s son became Emperor, Qiuming still stayed with the family and tried to act as an advisor, but the new Emperor Liu Ao was a womanizer that cared more to listen to his mother’s side of the family.  This led to many arguments, and already Qiuming had disliked Liu Ao for neglecting his father when sickly Liu Shi was on his deathbed.  It all came to a head when Qiuming pointed out that Liu Ao had made a terrible choice in his concubine, favoring a dancing girl named Zhao Hede.  Liu Ao refused to listen and instead banished Qiuming from the palace.  With that declaration, Qiuming swore that he would no longer give his protection to the Liu family and left to explore the world in hopes of finding the reincarnation of his true friend Liu Ju.

As time continued on in the human world, Qiuming noticed that the militaristic might of warhorses dwindled and were starting to become obsolete.  It was becoming more and more difficult for him to find a place in the world. Then while exploring he heard of an attraction haven for spirits and wondered if perhaps Liu Ju as a ghost could be found there, as he had yet to meet a reincarnation of Liu Ju in the human world.  He has been at the bathhouse since, working as means to earn his stay, though his skills means he best fits the role of a guard, he is a slacker and purposefully seeks the shifts with the least amount of trouble.

:bulletred:  Additional Info:

-   He does have a beast spirit form that he can transform into at will (but other than his necklace and bracers his clothing will tear so he has to get nekkid for it) ---> fav.me/d7igtdy

-    He is a powerful flier and can carry almost his own body weight in the stormiest of winds but he is not particularly fast or maneuverable.

-    His birthday is 12/02/102 BC.

-    He knows how to use almost every sort of manmade weapon (excluding modern firearms), but he most prefers the bow for long range fighting or a bo-staff for up close battles.

-    He only allows close friends to call him by his nickname Biao, preferring the name that Liu Ju gave him.

-    He is not a vegan by philosophy, but as a horse based spirit he simply finds the texture of meat weirdly “soft and squishy”.

-    To this day the only adult man he has willingly allowed to ride on his back has been Liu Ju.

-    His wingspan is a good 23 feet from tip to tip in his spirit form, and only 15 feet in human form.

-    The colors of his brindle coat are a Pearl base with a Blood Bay striping on top. This form of chimerism comes from Tianma horse DNA not quite co-mingling with mortal horse DNA. Despite his mixed heritage he is a full-fledged Tianma in his own right. He will not tolerate being called a ‘half breed’.

-    Prone to seasickness, he either will swim IN the water or fly ABOVE it, but not sail ON it.

-    Qiuming is Heterosexual.
